Design origin[]

Anvelid and it’s pre-evolved and evolved forms may be based on the evolution of snakes. Anvelid might be based on a group of burrowing reptiles similar to monitor lizards, which are hypothesized to have had a common ancestor with snakes in the Cretaceous period.

Name origin[]

Anvelid's name is a combination of anvil and annelid (a class of segmented worms).
