Lintle's design was originally of an infant wrapped in a silk cocoon. It's current design was originally created as a prevolution of the original design to make the evolutionary family follow the tradition of having the cocoon form be the second stage in it.
Lintle is tied with Atomite as the smallest Pokémon in the Sage Pokédex.
Gender differences were proposed for Lintle, involving its size, shape and the location of its bow antennae, but unlike its evolutions, these ideas were rejected.

1/2
Lintle is based on the larval stage of a Venezuelan poodle moth. However, there is no distinctive visual information on what the caterpillars of the Venezuelan poodle moth look like, so Lintle combines typical caterpillar imagery with the moth's fluffy fur and the appearance of a swaddled baby.
Name origin[]
Lintle's name is a combination of lint and little.
