Trivia[]

  • No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Icetope and its evolution.
  • Icetope learns moves via level up two, then three, then five levels apart. When put together numerically, they become 235, the isotope of uranium used for fission.

Design origin[]

Icetope is based on a slug and a nuclear reactor. The icicle-like features on its back resemble control rods. The pattern around its eye resembles an ionizing radiation hazard symbol.

Name origin[]

Icetope's name is a combination of ice and isotope, a variant of chemical elements that differ in atomic weight.
