Eyecatch Black Frames 1

Eyecatch size - details go in the white area, the black bars are frames.

This is where to put eyecatches that may be used in our game.

The actual content of an eyecatch is 256x160 pixels in size, with black bars above and below to fill out the entire 256x192 screen. When making an eyecatch, refer to the eyecatches in HeartGold and Soulsilver for overall style. Each eyecatch requires three variations for the times of day used in the game: Morning, Day, and Night.

Make eyecatches for the most important dungeons - you don't want an eyecatch for something like your house or a generic cave or route. Remember, all eyecatches in the official games are for locations which you could describe as "inside." That is, you don't just walk from a route over to the place, you go through a door or hole or something to get to a separate map instead. Keep this in mind when making an eyecatch.
