Trivia

  • Originally nicknamed the "Zen Monkeys," the Taomarin line are based on the concept of spiritual balance. This is reflected in their equilateral stats as well as learning each move at an even level.
  • Orangutao is based on the same creature as the Gen VII Pokémon Oranguru. However, Orangutao was designed long before that Pokémon was announced.

Design origin

Orangutao is based on orangutans and monks.

Name origin

Orangutao's name is a combination of orangutan and tao.
