Salvador is the Pokémon Champion of the Urobos League, and a supporting character in Pokémon Sage. Secretly, he is Pokéman, the costumed and self-styled defender of the Urobos region.
Salvador initially appears as his alter ego, the flamboyant and ostentatious self-appointed protector of Urobos. He speaks about upholding virtue and justice, and brags about his skill at defeating criminals and villains. Later, it becomes more and more clear that he is actually a quite competent trainer, as he is able to best many of Team Aurum's grunts, using their confusion at his bombastic antics to his advantage.
In his alternate persona he has a tendency to ramble, giving histrionic speeches about righteousness and honor, much to the chagrin of his enemies.
Outside of the costume he is quieter and less eccentric than his alter ego. He's well liked by most and takes on a mentor-esque position for young trainers. He originally acted sillier as Pokéman to mask his identity, but later admits that "the costume brings it out of you".
Role[]
In the guise of Pokéman, Salvador helps the player battle the villainous Team Aurum throughout the game.
After beating the Elite Four, the player battles Salvador for the title of Champion of the Urobos League.
Salvador's name is a reference to the Salvia genus of plants, more commonly referred to as sage. This reflects the running theme in the official games of naming Champions after plants. In Spanish and Portuguese, Salvador translates to "savior".
Pokéman's design and personality are inspired by henshin heroes such as Kamen Rider and Power Rangers/Super Sentai . This is especially apparent thanks to his long, flowing red scarf.
